Caterpillar's Earth Moving division is hiring for Engineering Team Leader in Brooklyn Park, MN or Peoria, IL!
Role Summary: As an Engineering Team Leader at Caterpillar Paving Products, you will lead the development of advanced controls technologies that enable the next generation of intelligent, connected, and autonomous paving equipment. You will integrate system architectures, requirements, and technical specifications; drive the integration of hardware, software, and machine systems; and collaborate across engineering disciplines to deliver robust, scalable, and customer-focused solutions.
What You'll Do (Job Duties)
  • Lead the development of system architectures, requirements, and technical specifications for advanced controls, automation, and emerging technology solutions
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, ensuring solutions align with business objectives, product strategy, and Caterpillar engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with global engineering, product, and business partners to define requirements, resolve technical issues, and drive successful product outcomes.
  • Overseeing project progress and costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems.
  • Directing project staffing; coaching, motivating and developing project team and team members.
  • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

What You Have (Core Skills)
  • Products and Services: Knowledge of paving products, machine systems, and customer applications; ability to leverage product expertise to develop solutions that improve machine performance, automation, and customer value.
  • Technical Excellence: Experience in advanced controls, software development, system integration, and emerging technologies such as autonomy, machine learning, perception systems, and connected machine solutions; ability to develop and implement solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, prioritize, monitor, and deliver complex engineering and technology development projects while balancing scope, schedule, cost, and risk.
  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of systems engineering principles and requirements development methods; ability to define, analyze, and manage product, software, controls, and autonomous system requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting tools and techniques for controls, software, and machine systems; ability to anticipate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues in product development and field environments.
  • Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product development processes, system architecture, and controls design; ability to lead the development of new products, advanced controls technologies, and autonomous system capabilities from concept through production.

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
