The Large Power Systems Division in Lafayette, IN currently has an opening for a Stores Controller. In this role you will be responsible for material availability for Assembly consumption. One of the primary areas of focus for the Storage Controller Floater will be ordering parts for the assembly lines and moving material to the assembly line via stand-up fork truck. The Storage Controller Floater will also be responsible for parts labels, maintaining inventory accuracy, and computer system input of orders and interplant material movement. The Storage Controller Floater is responsible for communicating any potential material shortages to procurement and assembly operations in order to avoid production impact to the business.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Ordering parts for assembly operations
  • Moving material to the assembly line via stand-up fork truck
  • Maintaining inventory accuracy on production parts
  • Utilizing computer system to input parts orders and move interplant material

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have at least 2 years of stand-up fork truck experience.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, safety-conscious individual capable of working independently.
  • Basic computer skills.

Top Candidates will also:
  • Be flexible to work overtime as needed to support production demands.
  • Possess and show strong interpersonal skills and apply customer-based focus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend and twist at the waist and be able to squat.
  • Stand on concrete for 8+ hours.
  • Consistent usage of required PPE for task being performed.

Additional Information:
  • Position available is on 2nd Shift (2:30pm-10:30pm)
