Job description

Working Hours/Days
M-F 7:30am to 4PM w/ 30 min lunch.
O/T when necessary.
Overview
Altorfer Power Systems division sells and services Caterpillar and non-CAT engine products and accessories, including on-highway truck engines, industrial and marine engines, engine-generator sets, electrical switchgear and controls. This position will be responsible for providing parts ordering and expediting for customers (internal/external).
Basic Duties
  • Order, track and expedite Caterpillar and non-CAT parts (Cummins, Peterbilt, Kohler, etc.)
  • Create new accurate templates for commercial CBA/CSA program, CAT and non-CAT machines. Continually update parts templates/maintenance agreements templates for accurate parts lists.
  • Start parts quotes, put in PSQ as needed including quotes initiated by CSA inspections and pass it off to the service team member that requested it.
  • Keep track of inventory and maintaining proper inventory records
  • Order and maintain non-CAT parts inventory. Assists with backorder processing and expediting.
  • Assists with monitoring and reordering of non-Cat items from appropriate vendors.
  • Assists with answering calls and questions from customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in parts, inventory, or logistics experience is required.
  • Ability to read engine diagrams or schematics is highly preferred.
  • Ability to navigate parts manuals and databases.
  • Mechanically inclined or technical background preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers (verbal, written and over the phone)
  • Must be able to handle general business math.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Ability to handle and problem solve issues that might occur in a professional manner.
  • Must be well organized and able to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Ability to follow all safety rules and wear proper safety equipment in the warehouse.
  • Must be team oriented and willing to adapt to change. Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
This position works in both office and warehouse environments. May, on a continuous basis sit at a desk for long periods of time, answer phone calls and write or use a keyboard to communicate through email. May on a continuous basis, walk, bend and lift up to 25lbs The wearing of approved safety equipment (i.e. safety glasses with side shields and steel toe footwear) is required. Noise level in the office is usually low and the noise level in the warehouse may range from low to moderate. Must be flexible during peak season working overtime as needed. Occasional local travel may be required. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
