Job description

Senior Business Analyst

Client seeks a Senior Business Integration Analyst with proven business analysis and project management expertise to ensure that achieves maximum business value from its Information Technology projects. This position is primarily responsible for completing and managing the Requirements Phase of projects and Investment Business Cases to define business objectives and scope, document user stories and business requirements, identify potential technical solutions, evaluate and collaborate with the Information Technology Division to propose a best technical solution, and develop business case documentation (cost-benefit analysis, ROI, etc.) to obtain execution approval by Strategic Technology Board (STB). Once approval is obtained an IT Project Manager will lead the execution phase of the project.

This person must be: detailed oriented, communicative, engaged, knowledgeable, motivated and extremely efficient. The ability to think strategically at the enterprise level as well as tactically at the operational level is key.

He or She will be responsible for ensuring business users understand their needs, produce'requirements' which clearly state the business needs and align with business processes, and communicate those requirements to ITD. This position will work with ITD to translate those functional business requirements into technical requirements which will be used to build or modify the system. This position must also have the ability to communicate as effectively with executive staff for decision making. Exceptional written communication skills and accuracy are essential to success in this position.

During application development, this position will work with the ITD team to validate requirements. During final roll out of the application, the Business Integration Team Member will be consulted during user acceptance testing (UAT) and work with the business unit to ensure all UAT is completed and the system meets all business requirements.

The successful candidate will have the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Business Process Analysis and Modeling (Certification Preferred)
  • PMP Certification (optional)
  • Specialty skills in work flow design, document management, enterprise content management, and/or understanding GIS and geospatial data are desired
  • Vendor Management
  • Systems Development Life Cycle
  • Facilitation and Collaborative Leadership / Ability to Drive Consensus
  • Investment Analysis
  • Business Acumen Experience in different functional areas, understands interrelationships
  • Excellent skills with MS SharePoint, Access, Excel and Word Excellent
  • Communication and Analytical Skills
  • Experience presenting to executives and all levels of the organization
