Job description

Job Summary: The Cash Application Specialist will receive, prepare for posting, and post a variety of account payments and denials received electronically, by mail, via bank lockbox, via RDS, and/or from other departments, for Caromont Regional Medical Center, Caromont Medical Group, Courtland Terrace, Caromont Occupational Medicine, Caromont Endoscopy Center, and Caromont Ambulatory Surgical Center balances . The Cash Application Specialist will also balance all payments and adjustments compared to deposit amounts and resolve any posting errors from electronic postings in the Epic Cash Management Module. Cash Applications Specialists will work with Business Services' follow-up staff to post any missing payments and denials. The Cash Application Specialist will utilize insurance websites to download any missing remits and submit W9s to payors for pay-to address corrections. . The Cash Application Specialist will process mail received from the lockbox and from Caromont Regional Medical Center, research payments, as needed, for patients, co-workers, and insurance companies, and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required. At least six months of Business Office experience required. Knowledge of insurance practices and prior experience reading EOBs is preferred. Basic PC and 10 Key skills. Data entry ability. Ability to communicate clearly. Above average consumer math skills.
