POSITION: Assistant General ManagerJOBSUMMARY

TheAssistant General Manager will coordinate the activities of hotel personnel asdirected and provides support to the General Manager. If your passion is delivering quality and value, this may be the jobfor you.

JOBRESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assigns duties to staff and observes performanceto ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures
  • Provides training, including safety training, tostaff
  • Selects or assists in the selection of hotelstaff and completes all new hire paperwork
  • Reviews employee performance and conductspersonnel actions such as disciplinary actions and terminations
  • Maintains accurate records including cash flowsheet, direct bill accounts, credit card receipts, registration cards, reservation cards, direct bills, credit cards, and tax exempt.
  • Conducts or assists in conducting staff meetings
  • Adheres to all franchise and company proceduresand regulations as well as standard operating procedures
  • Receives and resolves or assists in resolvingguest complaints and employee issues
  • Performs functions of the General Manager intheir absence
  • Available24/7 with reliable transportation
  • Coversshifts in all departments as scheduled by the General Manager
  • Corresponds with group and travel agents toanswer special requests for rooms and rates
  • Assistswith sales and marketing efforts as directed
  • Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policiesand services
  • Assists General Manager in annual wage scalesurveys; ensures employee wages follow wage and salary guidelines
  • All other duties as assigned
PROFESSIONALEXPERIENCE
  • BachelorÒ€ℒs degree in Hospitality Management orsimilar degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Hotel operations experience to include knowledgeof all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements of federal,state, and municipal authority
  • Presentation/Facilitation Skills (preferred)
  • Excellent customer service skills
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry(preferred)
  • Hotel Management Operations experience(preferred)
  • Knowledge of government relations regarding hoteloperations (preferred)
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be flexible to work varied schedules
  • Ability to delegate and direct the activities ofthe team to ensure efficient operation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have the physical ability to walk, bend, andstand for long time periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
