Mike Terry Hyundai, one of the fastest growing Hyundai stores in the state of Texas and recognized as a Top 100 place to work, is actively seeking a high-level Used Car Manager / Used Car Director to take full control of our used vehicle operation. This is a leadership role for a proven operator who understands how to drive volume, hold gross, and control inventory at a high level.

We are a high-volume store with strong gross potential and we are looking for a leader who wants to step in, take ownership, and make an immediate impact.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Forecasts goals and objectives for used vehicle sales, gross profit, and expenses on a monthly and annual basis.
Hires, trains, motivates, and manages the performance of all used vehicle sales personnel.
Establishes and manages the used car operating budget and departmental profitability.
Maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to vehicle sales.
Directs daily operations of the used vehicle department, ensuring proper staffing and productivity.
Appraises and acquires inventory through auctions, trade-ins, service drive, and direct purchases.
Controls inventory levels, aging, and pricing strategy to ensure maximum turn and profitability.
Reviews inventory daily and adjusts pricing based on market conditions and demand.
Oversees reconditioning timelines and expenses to maintain efficiency and cost control.
Maintains accurate logs and reports of all sales and inventory activity.
Implements and enforces a structured follow-up system for leads and sold customers.
Conducts daily and weekly sales meetings to drive accountability and performance.
Works directly with sales staff to close deals and maximize gross profit.
Develops incentive programs to increase productivity, volume, and profitability.
Ensures proper delivery processes and customer satisfaction standards are maintained.
Coordinates with accounting to finalize deals and process commissions accurately.
Assists with trade appraisals and supports overall dealership sales efforts.
Partners with ownership and management to determine inventory mix and acquisition strategy.
Directs merchandising and advertising efforts for the used vehicle department.
Maintains a professional appearance and leadership presence at all times.
Performs additional duties as required by dealership management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Must have prior Automotive Used Car Management or Director-level experience.
Proven track record of driving inventory turn, gross profit, and volume.
Strong appraisal and vehicle acquisition skills.
Experience with auctions, online buying platforms, and inventory management tools.
Ability to analyze market data and adjust pricing strategies effectively.
Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Valid driverโ€™s license required.
