Description:

Pick Your Part is seeking a self-motivated, field-based Outside Car Buyer responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing vehicles to support inventory needs. This role manages purchasing activities, builds vendor relationships, and ensures consistent vehicle supply aligned with market demand and profitability goals.


Schedule & Compensation

  • Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Competitive Pay + bonus opportunities
  • Local travel required


Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and purchase used vehicle inventory from tow yards, auctions, wholesalers, and private sellers
  • Establish, manage, and control purchasing activities within assigned territory
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vehicle suppliers, wholesalers, and auction representatives
  • Develop and maintain a consistent buying network to support monthly inventory acquisition goals
  • Analyze market trends, inventory reports, and sales performance to guide purchasing decisions
  • Negotiate purchase prices and terms to meet company profitability targets
  • Travel as needed to inspect and acquire vehicle inventory across territory
  • Plan and manage daily routes for efficient field coverage
  • Coordinate with transportation teams to ensure timely pickup and delivery of purchased vehicles
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, vendor agreements, and activity tracking
  • Verify ownership documentation and complete required purchase paperwork
  • Inspect vehicles for condition, value, and missing components
  • Work closely with the Inside Car Buyer team to meet yard and inventory goals
  • Communicate market conditions, trends, and inventory needs to leadership
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Must pass drug screen and MVR
  • Must meet company vehicle insurance requirements
  • Experience in sales, procurement, customer service, or automotive preferred
