Job Opportunity

Captain/Engineer - 26m - Private Open to individuals or Captain/Stew couples. Start date : May/June 2026 Vessel flag : Canadian Itinerary : Florida/Bahamas Homeport : Florida (exact location is flexible) Accommodations : live-aboard. Captain's cabin with queen bed. Captain / Engineer is the only full-time crew, but this position is open to couples.

Summary: Seeking a captain/engineer to take command of a new Horizon FD85. This is a private family program with fantastic owners who have owned boats for many years. Usage is mainly during the winter with trips to the Bahamas. Light summer season usage. The boat is used mainly for family trips and the occasional fishing trip. Owner is open to docking the boat on the east or west coast of Florida. The ideal candidate will have an excellent attention to detail and have proven experience maintaining a high standard of vessel maintenance and upkeep. We are looking for someone punctual, organized and personable/family friendly.

Requirements: 100-ton license Valid B1B1 or US passport Excellent communication and organizational skills Must have experience captaining similar sized vessels with strong references Strong engineering/technical knowledge Fishing knowledge is a plus STCW ENG1 Must speak English to a high standard Must be willing to comply to a criminal background check prior to employment Package : Salary: $8,000 - $10,000 DOE monthly Paid Leave: 2 weeks the first year, moving up to 3 weeks after first year Insurance not provided Discretionary bonus after 1 year Contract provided
