Your daily responsibilities may include updating project timelines, preparing status reports, facilitating team meetings, and ensuring that project milestones are met on time. Most CAPMs work in collaborative environments, often communicating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to keep projects moving smoothly. Over time, hands-on experience in this role can open up opportunities for advancement to higher-level positions in project management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CAPM?

What is a CAPM?

A CAPM job typically refers to entry-level project management roles that require or prefer the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification. The CAPM certification, offered by PMI (Project Management Institute), validates foundational knowledge of project management principles, processes, and terminology. Professionals with this certification may work as project coordinators, project assistants, or junior project managers, supporting teams in planning, executing, and monitoring projects. It is an excellent stepping stone for those looking to advance into more senior project management roles.

ABOUT ENERGY PROJECT PARTNERS

Energy Project Partners (EPP) is a rapidly expanding energy project services firm providing project management, owner’s representation, field services, QA/QC, digital solutions, and technical consulting across a broad range of major capital and utility-scale energy projects in the U.S. Through our integrated divisions — EPP Resources, EPP Field Services, and EPP Digital Solutions — we combine people, processes, and technology to deliver industry-leading results.

The APM reports to the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within the project organization and to the Director – Resource Solutions within the EPP Resources division. Beyond documentation, the APM facilitates contract management, pay-application processing, change-order execution, and owner-furnished-equipment coordination, and takes on tasks delegated by the PM while developing toward independent project management.
