Capital Project Manager

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: JBS Prepared Foods is seeking a Capital Project Manager to execute the company's capital strategy and lead the project engineering team within our Prepared Foods Business Unit. The Capital Project Manager will be responsible for preparing the annual capital funding request, managing the company's capital budget, supporting growth initiatives, designing new production lines or processes, and leading a team of project engineering direct reports, among other duties. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams including Environmental, Operations, Finance, FSQA, Safety, and others to execute the overall company strategy. The Capital Project Manager will report to the Head of Engineering & Environmental and will support the business across 12 sites located throughout the country.

Our ideal candidate will live and work in Greeley, CO at the Corporate Office, or in one of our plant locations in Columbia, MO, Boonville, MS, Council Bluffs, IA, Elkhart, IN, Ankeny, IA or Moberly, MO.

Responsibilities:

  • Production Facilities Support: Provide remote or onsite support to sites as needed.
  • Project Management: Set project goals and direction, develop capital project budgets, and ensure project alignment with the Company's strategic plan.
  • Management/Supervision: Provide manpower, capacity, and resource planning. Directly or indirectly supervise technical personnel, including contractors or the project engineering team.
  • Product and Process Development: Provide general oversight for the execution and completion of comprehensive design verification and process validation protocols.
  • Best Practices: Roll out and standardize best manufacturing practice initiatives across the company.
  • Technical Documentation, Communication, and Processes: Ensure product, process, and project documentation is complete, accurate, and sufficient to enable development and production teams to understand critical requirements. Assemble technology transfer documentation and provide development engineering input to cross-functional product development teams.
  • Safety: Implement and enforce Company safety policies.
  • Training: Ensure adequate staff training and proper documentation in accordance with Company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline required; Master's degree or Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred - a combination of education and experienced will be considered
  • 8-10 years of engineering experience in the food manufacturing industry, including at least 5 years in a management role.
  • Previous internal company experience highly preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%, or as needed.
  • Proficiency in CAD
  • SAP Experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Power-Point, etc.)
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $180,000-$200,000 and
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company's annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;

The posted salary range represents the Company's good faith estimate of the compensation that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, tenure, internal equity, market data, and may vary accordingly.
