How You'll Make an Impact

Are you an engineer who thrives on turning complex challenges into real-world results? As a Capital Project Manager, you'll lead high-impact capital projects that shape the future of our manufacturing operations, from concept and design through construction, commissioning, and startup. This is more than project management. You'll serve as both the technical leader and project owner, driving critical investments that improve safety, reliability, capacity, and operational performance across the plant.

In this highly visible role, you'll partner with Operations, Maintenance, HSES, and Engineering teams to develop innovative solutions, influence key business decisions, and deliver projects that create lasting value. You'll have the opportunity to tackle complex engineering challenges, lead multidisciplinary teams, and see your ideas come to life in a dynamic chemical manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and lead capital projects from concept through startup, establishing project scope, engineering strategy, schedule, budget, and execution plans while aligning stakeholders across the site.
  • Direct engineering design and project execution activities through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup while maintaining accountability for technical quality, schedule, and cost performance.
  • Incorporate Process Safety Management (PSM), HSES, and regulatory requirements into project designs and field execution, ensuring compliance with site standards and industry best practices.
  • Serve as the technical authority for assigned projects, reviewing and approving engineering designs, equipment specifications, and construction packages while ensuring compliance with applicable standards and operational requirements.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams consisting of engineers, operations personnel, contractors, consultants, and suppliers to achieve project objectives.
  • Identify technical, execution, and business risks throughout the project lifecycle and implement mitigation plans to protect safety, cost, schedule, and operational continuity.
  • Serve as the primary engineering decision-maker on assigned projects, resolving complex technical challenges and balancing engineering, operational, and commercial considerations.
  • Maintain project governance documentation, provide progress updates to stakeholders, manage change control activities, and support successful commissioning and handover to Operations.

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline required.
  • 8+ years of experience leading capital projects, project engineering, or project management activities within manufacturing, chemical processing, or other industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading projects from concept development through detailed design, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational handover.
  • Working knowledge of engineering standards, PSM requirements, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements within industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership while managing scope, budget, schedule, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Experience reviewing and working with engineering drawings and design packages developed using AutoDesk or similar engineering design tools.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, and documentation management systems.
