Capacity Representative Position
Description: The Capacity Representative position reports directly to the Operations Manager while working closely with Account Managers and Sales Representatives. Capacity Representatives work in a competitive, fast -paced, and high-performance environment.
Pre-Requisites:
-Excellent communication skills
-Basic understanding of the Logistics Industry
- Proficient with computer-based shipping databases.
- Excellent time management skills
-Attention to detail
-Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Responsibilities:
- Manage load distribution from bookings to over the road (OTR) and delivery
-Examine loads following pick up and upon delivery to verify conformance to customer specifications and DOT regulations
-Oversee and manage OTR operations by tracking and tracing customer freight
- Contract dedicated carriers dependent on domestic capacity
- Ensure compliance with directives, DOT standards, and company policies
- Negotiate carrier rates based upon market averages
- Approve and issue accessorial payments
- Administer carrier contracts with dedicate lane prices, terms and conditions, and other contract modifications and settlements
-Participate in weekly team meetings to evaluate and adhere to customer needs
- Collaborate with and assist Account Managers and Sales Executives
- Participate in creating solutions to carrier "fall off", claims and product OSD's (overages, shortages, damages)
- Analyze carrier insurance policies to ensure they comply with AMX policies
- Work and familiarize with special operations such as transloading, dropping of trailers, power only, OSOW (oversized, overweight), and other special provisions
