Role Description The Maintenance Electrician is a full-time, on-site role based at Atkinson Candy Company’s manufacturing facility in Lufkin, TX. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment used in candy production and packaging. Day-to-day tasks include performing electrical troubleshooting on machinery, diagnosing equipment issues, and completing corrective and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. The Maintenance Electrician will inspect wiring, motors, control panels, and related components to ensure safe and efficient operation in accordance with codes and company standards. This role also collaborates with production and maintenance teams to support continuous improvement, document work performed, and respond promptly to equipment failures or service requests.
Qualifications
  • Strong electrical maintenance skills, including practical knowledge of electricity and industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting equipment, diagnosing electrical issues, and resolving problems efficiently.
  • Proficiency in maintenance and repair of production machinery, motors, control panels, and related components.
  • Ability to perform and document preventive maintenance activities to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Familiarity with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and safe work practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant technical training or certification in electrical systems, industrial maintenance, or a related field; journeyman or equivalent experience preferred.
