Associate Director of Campaign Strategy & Management

Cooley is seeking an Associate Director of Campaign Strategy & Management to join the Marketing and Business Development team.

Position summary: This role is part of the Strategy, Transformation & Growth Team, which acts as the firm's "central nervous system," building the scalable infrastructure and data-backed frameworks that allow Marketing & Client Development to move from reactive execution to proactive, high-impact strategy. It ensures that strategic choices and unique brand differentiating experiences (spanning high-end events to targeted digital channels) are translated into repeatable, optimized market performance that makes the firm stand out in market. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position responsibilities:

  • Enterprise Journey Architecture: Define the strategic frameworks for Cooley's client journeys, establishing standardized, high-fidelity "playbooks" that align Business Unit goals with scalable digital and physical touchpoints.
  • Omnichannel Personalization Strategy: Lead the vision for "right message, right person, right time," architecting the logic and data requirements needed to deliver personalized client experiences at scale.
  • Strategic Plan Translation: Serve as the primary bridge between BU Marketing and execution teams, translating broad marketing objectives into sophisticated, multi-touch campaign architectures.
  • Journey Governance & Connectivity: Ensure all campaigns are interconnected within the broader MCD ecosystem, preventing "siloed" activations and ensuring a seamless transition for the client across channels.
  • Outcome-Driven Orchestration: Partner with the Insights & Optimization lead to define campaign-level success metrics, ensuring every journey is engineered to deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Real-Time Optimization Leadership: Establish the frameworks for real-time campaign adjustments, empowering the team to pivot tactics based on live performance data and client behavioral insights.
  • Internal Agency Management: Act as the lead "account director" for the BU marketers, managing internal expectations, resource allocation, and the strategic health of the campaign portfolio.
  • Channel SME Collaboration: Partner with Digital Experience leads (Web, Email, Search, Events) to ensure campaign strategies leverage the full capabilities and latest innovations of the firm's channel stack.
  • Content & Creative Alignment: Collaborate with the Brand and Content teams to ensure the narrative and visual identity are woven consistently throughout the entire client journey.
  • MarTech Roadmap Stakeholder: Provide strategic input into the MarTech roadmap to ensure future tools support advanced journey orchestration, lead scoring, and automated personalization.
  • People Leader:
  • Serve as direct supervisor and mentor to direct reports
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of direct reports, ensure compliance with assigned work hours and monitor for compliance with all firm and department policies. Manage staffing coverage, review and process time logs/time off requests
  • Support business professional development and continued educational opportunities
  • In collaboration with immediate supervisor and central HR, participate in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, termination and other employee lifecycle events
  • All other duties as assigned or required

Skills and experience:

Required:

  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
  • Ability to travel, as required
  • 8+ years of applicable experience in the field (e.g., marketing or business development, preferably with an emphasis working in a strategy, transformation, or growth function), with 4+ years management experience (some at the senior level preferred)
  • Demonstrated strategy and experience mapping across the client/buying lifecycle
  • Hands-on experience with CRM, web, automation, orchestration and data visualization technologies
  • Advanced data storytelling skills and ability to align campaign initiatives and experiences with KPIs/business goals
  • Creation and advancement of marketing measurement frameworks and capabilities
  • Bachelor's Degree

Cooley offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package and is committed to fair and equitable employment practices. EOE.

The expected annual pay range for this position with a full-time schedule is $185,000 - $225,000.Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
