Job description

Summary
Provide OB/Gyn services to the patients of the CAMC per the terms of the employment agreement and serve as a member of the faculty.
Responsibilities
To provide care to CAMC patients in the field of OB/Gyn in compliance with the highest standards of medical art and science as per delineation of privileges at CAMC GVMC.
Care will be delivered in the appropriate setting and coordinated with the staff present at each site.
The physician will take the lead in all patient care issues and will be ultimately responsible for the outcome of the encounter.
To have and maintain an unrestricted license to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of West Virginia.
To have and maintain a valid Drug Enforcement Administration number unless such a number is not necessary for the Physician to perform their duties under this agreement
Maintain active status (category I) with regards to clinical privileges at CAMC
Maintain participation in the Medicare Program, West Virginia Medicaid Program and other third-party payor programs as directed by the institution
Adhere to all applicable organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and bylaws
To provide medical services and duties in accordance with a national standard of care; in accordance with accepted methods of practice; in accordance with all applicable laws; and in a courteous, prompt, professional, competent, and efficient manner
Must be able to relate appropriately with patients, staff, corporate management, medical staff and co-workers. Physician must be a team player and must remain current in medical/surgical knowledge as well as applicable legal and regulatory issues
Provide medical professional services and coverage within CAMC
With regard to issues of clinical practice and administrative matters the physician will report to the Hospitalist Medical Director in collaboration with the assigned associate administrator/administrator. Employment matters within CAMC, chain of command is President and Physician Administrator. Medical Affairs matters report to CAMC VPMA and CMO.
Other Information Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)
The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically, the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in:
1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs;
2) knowledge of growth and development; and
3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

Competency Statement Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist.
