Job description

Hourly Rate: $27.04/hour

Love making the Kitchen shine while working under pressure and meeting deadlines? Do you have a positive "Can Do" attitude and love to deliver the spirit of genuine hospitality while working as a team? Our ideal candidate must have flexible scheduling availability and a high level of proficiency and a passion for kitchen cleanliness. This person will provide clean china, glass and flatware to entire restaurant and banquet staff in a timely efficient manner. Assist kitchen with food preparation responsibilities. Assist in maintenance of kitchen. Operates dishwasher to properly clean all dishes. Banquet functions; and maintain a clean, sanitary and safe kitchen.

Work Hours:

  • Employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotels.

Language Skills:

  • Must be able to use English both verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

Essential Skills:

  • Must be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing “Can Do” attitude and genuine hospitality and by exceeding guest expectations.

  • Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems
  • Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate
  • Performs other duties as required to provide “Can Do” attitude and genuine hospitality

Work with the chief Steward and/or Kitchen Supervisor on daily banquet functions.

  • Reads Banquet Event Order to determine type of function (buffet, reception, plated, etc.), food items, supplies needed,
  • Checks all cold food, hot food and desserts prior to start of function
  • Transports food from prep area to function
  • Maintains supply of clean dishware, utensils, for all buffets
  • Monitors dishwasher machine and makes adjustments when needed
  • Insurers proper amount of dishes and covers have been set-up
  • Monitors break down and washing of all dishware, glassware and utensils

Maintains a clean kitchen environment by assisting kitchen personnel in following standard cleaning practices

  • Sweeps and mops the entire kitchen and dish room
  • Washes all clearing counters and shelves
  • Washes mats with bleach after each use
  • Sets up and breaks down all of the hot and cold foods for the employee cafeteria
  • Monitors all supplies for the employee cafeteria
  • Wipes dining tables and ensures that the cafeteria is presentable at all times
  • Transports and washes dishes for the employee cafeteria
  • Monitors trash levels in all cans and removes when needed
  • Ensures that the wet waste is not being overfilled and being removed on a regular basis
  • Perform related duties as assigned by Manager.
  • Maintain compliance with all company and brand policies and procedures.
  • Follows DOH and ECOSURE food safety and sanitation practices

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. 15%
  • Must be able to pull and push carts/receptacles up to 100 lbs 10%
  • Full dexterity using both hands including: grasping and gripping objects being handled 90%
  • Kneeling, bending and squatting 30%
  • Reaching at or above shoulder height for objects 15%
  • Continuous standing and walking on feet for an 8 hour shift
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on all communication devices.
