Job description

This position is with Child and Youth Services (CYS) Youth Sports and Fitness at Fort Polk in Leesville, Louisiana.

Regular Part-Time position. Eligible for leave accrual and benefits.
Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week:

  • First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees)
  • Second and Subsequent Child: At least 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees)
Qualifications:Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should not include photos.
Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities as they pertain to the qualifications listed below.
A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Possess a bachelor's degree or higher in physical education.
OR
All of the following equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level:
1. Experience managing or assisting in the delivery of a sports or physical education program which included both individual and team sports.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of the skills and techniques needed for various sports.
3. Experience coaching or working with coaches to apply techniques and required skills/fundamentals for various sports.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
Highly qualified candidates will possess experience working in a sports program specifically for children or youth; or at least 12 semester hours in college coursework directly related to children or youth (i.e., PE for children, motor skills development, childhood development, early/elementary/secondary education, health/nutrition for children, child/adolescent psychology, etc.).
Highly Preferred candidates may be sent first for consideration. Additional referrals will be sent at management's request.Education:Please provide any relevant transcripts or certificates that support your eligibility for the position.
