Job description

Catering to a broad spectrum of technology and client requirements, 1200+ skilled technicians deliver over 1000 projects annually across data center markets in the US and APAC. DL has proven success in the deployment of next-generation infrastructure technologies across the data center lifecycle; from design & planning, install & build through Day 2 maintenance, technology upgrades & retrofits, including delivering the latest wave of AI/ML platforms.
POSITION: Cable Technician
About the Role:
Experienced Cable Technician with expertise in decommissioning, installing, and troubleshooting network cabling infrastructure in data center environments. Skilled in working with Cat5/Cat6 cabling, fiber optics, patch panels, and test equipment including VFL, OTDR, power meters, and Fluke Versiv 5000. Proficient in interpreting blueprints, redlines, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and quality processes. Strong ability to collaborate with stakeholders, provide project updates, maintain data center cleanliness, and deliver reliable, high-quality solutions in fast-paced technical environments.
What You will Do:
  • Decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
  • Provide structured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders.
  • Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness
  • Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
  • Reading and comprehending blueprints and building documentation/redline work.
  • Broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies
  • 4 + years In-depth knowledge of Cat 5, Cat 6
  • 3 +years of in-depth knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment, such as VFL, power meter, Fluke Versive 5000 and OTDR
  • 3+ years' experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
  • 3+ years' experience troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.

What You will Need:
  • Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Must have experience working in data centers, telco, IT operations, or related technical field.
  • Any server, OS, Network, or data center certification (including in-progress) are a plus.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be a professional, accurate, urgent and provide quality.
  • Ability to work alone or in teams with minimal instruction.
