What is a BYOD job?

A BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) job requires employees to use their personal devices, such as laptops, smartphones, or tablets, for work-related tasks. Companies that implement BYOD policies often provide security guidelines and software to protect company data. This arrangement can offer flexibility and cost savings for both employers and employees. However, it also raises concerns about data security, device compatibility, and work-life balance.

What does BYOD mean in the workplace?

BYOD stands for 'Bring Your Own Device.' It is a policy that allows employees to use their personal devices, such as smartphones, laptops, and tablets, to access company systems and data. This approach can increase flexibility and convenience for employees but also raises important considerations for security and data management. Organizations implementing BYOD need clear policies and robust security measures to protect sensitive information. It is important for both employers and employees to understand their responsibilities under a BYOD policy.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) IT Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a BYOD IT Specialist, you need expertise in network security, mobile device management (MDM), and a strong understanding of various operating systems and platforms. Job description

Director of Mobile Innovation & Endpoint Engineering

Visionary Technology Leader | Enterprise Mobility | Next-Generation Endpoint Strategy

Onsite hybrid

Our client is seeking a visionary Director of Mobile Innovation & Endpoint Engineering to lead the future of enterprise mobility. This executive-level position is responsible for defining the long-term strategy for Mobile Device Management (MDM), BYOD, endpoint security, and the adoption of emerging productivity technologies.

This is a highly strategic leadership role for someone who enjoys looking several years ahead evaluating innovative devices, designing next-generation endpoint experiences, and building secure mobility solutions that transform how employees work.

What You'll Do

  • Define the enterprise vision and roadmap for next-generation Mobile Device Management and endpoint technologies.

  • Lead an elite team of engineers focused on design, engineering, architecture, and rapid innovation rather than large-scale operations.

  • Build a modern, secure BYOD strategy that delivers an exceptional employee experience while maintaining enterprise-grade security and compliance.

  • Evaluate and integrate emerging productivity technologies including reMarkable tablets, e-ink devices, foldable hardware, AI-enabled endpoints, and other next-generation mobile platforms.

  • Design and engineer innovative endpoint management solutions leveraging cloud technologies, automation, Zero Trust security, and intelligent device lifecycle management.

  • Partner with executive leadership to identify technologies that will shape the future workplace and provide competitive advantage.

  • Champion user-centric mobility solutions that balance flexibility, privacy, productivity, and cybersecurity.

  • Drive innovation across endpoint provisioning, security, compliance, telemetry, and mobile user experience.

What We're Looking For

  • Director-level leadership experience in Enterprise Mobility, Endpoint Engineering, Digital Workplace, or Modern Device Management.

  • Expertise designing enterprise MDM environments using platforms such as Microsoft Intune, Workspace ONE, Jamf, MobileIron, or similar technologies.

  • Strong background in BYOD architecture, Zero Trust security, endpoint protection, identity management, and cloud-first infrastructure.

  • Experience evaluating and deploying emerging mobile technologies and modern productivity devices.

  • A visionary mindset with the ability to anticipate technology trends and translate them into enterprise solutions.

  • Proven success leading highly skilled engineering teams while influencing executive stakeholders across the organization.

If you're passionate about defining the future of enterprise mobility, engineering secure next-generation endpoint experiences, and leading a focused team that drives innovation rather than simply maintaining technology, we'd like to hear from you.
