Risk & Insurance Mgmt
Job Description
This position is a critical team member within Risk and Insurance Management (RIM), a university department responsible for organizing, coordinating, and implementing programs to manage risk for all University of Missouri campuses.
The University of Missouri System is seeking a detail-oriented professional with customer service skills to join the RIM team as a Business Support Assistant. This position serves as the point of contact for the department and coordinates timely processing and continuity of daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with various projects as assigned.
• Building coordinator-Sort mail, order supplies, coordinate regarding repairs and construction, replenish breakroom supplies, serve as building point of contact, enter maintenance requests, etc.
• Manage the shared email box by responding or directing them as appropriate.
• Produce evidence letters and request certificates of insurance.
• File management which includes organization of claim files, policy folders, and yearly record retention.
• Process payments for legal invoices, enter non-PO vouchers for monthly bills, and produce settlement payments.
• Manage supplier setups for claim payments and settlements.
• Answer inquiries and enter Workers' Compensation incident reports.
• Maintain department website.
• Serve as department vehicle custodian; coordinate use, maintenance, and repairs.
• Facilitate responses to insurance verification requests; review and produce malpractice history letters as needed.
• Follow procedures in place when using University credit cards.
• Schedule travel and large group meetings.
Shift
Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
Minimum Qualifications
An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and organization
Customer service skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and standard business systems
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
