Design Build Business Development Representative

Lake in the Hills, Illinois, United States

This Design Build Business Development role focuses on ensuring sales goals and customer service standards are consistently achieved by generating leads and meeting client needs. You will oversee an individual portfolio of residential and commercial accounts, taking projects from initial proposal through to successful close.

Based in Lake in the Hills and Barrington Hills, IL, this award-winning, family-owned business has provided impeccable, year‑round landscape services for over 29 years. The organization serves commercial properties, HOAs, and residential homes throughout the Chicagoland and Southern Wisconsin areas. Employees enjoy a dedicated team environment where they help clients add lasting beauty and value to their properties through custom design, build, and maintenance services.

Responsibilities
  • Generate leads independently for new sales and proactively uncover additional opportunities within the existing client base.
  • Develop comprehensive proposals by estimating costs, presenting to clients, obtaining price approvals, and executing contracts.
  • Conduct preconstruction meetings, coordinate jobsite setup with supervisors, and perform site quality reviews to ensure budget adherence and quality control.
  • Build long‑lasting relationships with new and existing clientele, driving toward a goal of a 90% renewal rate.
  • Manage BOSS pipeline activities daily and proactively resolve issues to maintain exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Design experience is a plus.
Requirements
  • Bring 5+ years of proven experience in Landscape Sales and/or Landscape Account Management.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, face‑to‑face client interaction, and cold‑calling skills.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Software (Outlook, Excel, and Word) and have the ability to quickly learn BOSS software.
  • Hold a minimum of an Associates or Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • Possess a valid driver's license and remain insurable on the company’s policy.
  • Showcase excellent time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills to effectively manage and grow a book of business.
  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 (including base and commission).
