Job description

Last Energy seeks a Business Operations Lead to run the day-to-day operational backbone of the company — vendors, facilities, insurance, compliance calendars, and office infrastructure. This role will act as a right-hand to leadership across a broad operational portfolio.

This role will work across operations, IT, legal, finance, and security to keep the company running smoothly, and must be comfortable with both process-building and hands-on field work.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Run the weekly operations standup (ops, IT, compliance, accounting) and own the office manager's task management
  • Oversee the team coordinating vendor management: corporate services, office leases/facilities, travel vendors, and related providers
  • Spin up and directly manage external service providers for administrative projects, ensuring continuity in transfers between service providers or internal teams
  • Own the insurance program and program renewals in partnership with the legal team
  • Maintain the non-legal corporate compliance calendar and renewal calendar (permits, licenses, facilities-related filings)
  • Oversee IT on policy drafting, hardware/software procurement, training, and compliance
  • Work with the Head of Security to maintain building security for office spaces, visitor management, safety protocols, and access control
  • Lead space growth planning and the real estate portfolio, including lease negotiation (in partnership with legal) and space build-out
  • Partner with legal and finance to improve approval matrices and controls
  • Partner with legal/compliance to roll out new policies and procedures
  • Partner with People Ops on new hire logistics, including desk setup and building access
  • Oversee physical asset and equipment inventory in partnership with IT and manufacturing teams
  • Build and maintain dashboards to track operations KPIs, project budgets, and equipment inventories
  • Oversee special projects as needed; must be comfortable with field work and getting hands dirty
  • Own event logistics for both internal and external-facing events
  • Act as right hand to the C-Suite, supporting other duties as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in business operations, office/facilities operations, or a similar function, ideally in a high-growth environment
  • Proven experience managing vendors, service providers, and facilities or real estate projects
  • Familiarity with insurance programs, compliance calendars, and corporate renewals
  • Comfort overseeing IT policy, procurement, and physical security in partnership with specialist teams
  • Strong project management skills; able to coordinate many workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Data-oriented; experience building dashboards and tracking operational KPIs
  • Hands-on, resourceful, and willing to do field work when needed
  • Based in Austin, TX (or open to relocation)
