SMS Business Operations Lead

About your role:

As the SMS Business Operations Lead, you will lead operational planning, execution, and continuous improvement activities that support SMS business performance. You will work across cross-functional teams including product, finance, sales, client support, and senior leadership to translate business priorities into measurable operational outcomes. This role matters because it helps improve execution discipline, decision-making, and scalability across the organization.

What you'll do:

  • Lead business operations programs that support planning, performance management, process execution, and operational readiness for the SMS organization.

  • Partner with leaders across product, finance, sales, and support to define priorities, track key performance indicators, and drive operational follow-through.

  • Analyze operational, financial, and performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend actions based on measurable business impact.

  • Develop and standardize reporting, dashboards, business reviews, and operating rhythms that improve visibility, accountability, and decision-making.

  • Manage and develop team members by setting clear goals, providing regular coaching, and supporting ongoing performance and career growth.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve processes, reduce operational friction, and strengthen execution across teams and stakeholders.

  • Manage resource planning, issue escalation, and operational governance processes to support business objectives and timely delivery.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • 10+ years of experience in business operations, program management, strategy operations, or related business functions supporting operational execution and performance management.

  • 8+ years of experience managing and developing teams in a business operations, program management, or cross-functional delivery environment.

  • 10+ years of experience analyzing business performance, building reporting, and driving operational decisions using data, metrics, and structured business reviews.

  • Experience leading cross-functional process improvement initiatives using reporting tools, spreadsheet modeling, presentation tools, and workflow management methods.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Operations, or related field or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Experience supporting SMS, payments, financial technology, or related regulated business environments.

  • Experience with dashboard and reporting platforms used for operational performance tracking.

  • Experience in annual planning, resource forecasting, or operational budgeting processes.

  • Experience working with executive leadership on business reviews and operational prioritization.

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

Travel:This role requires occasional travel (up to 10%).
