Job description

Position Summary
The Business Manager serves as the primary relationship lead for assigned client accounts, overseeing all financial, operational, and advisory aspects of client management. This role is the central point of coordination between clients, Managing Directors, Account Managers, and internal specialists. The Business Manager is expected to develop trusted advisor relationships with clients and their representatives while ensuring the highest standards of service delivery across all aspects of client financial life.
Primary Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned roster of clients and maintaining strong and trusted relationships
  • Lead client meetings, proactively communicate financial updates, and ensure clients feel fully informed and supported at all times
  • Coordinate with clients' attorneys, agents, publicists, business representatives, and other advisors to facilitate seamless financial management
  • Assist Managing Directors in identifying, onboarding, and retaining prospective clients
  • Anticipate client needs and provide proactive, solutions-oriented guidance across all areas of financial planning and lifestyle management

Account Management & Operations
  • Oversee and support Account Managers in delivering day-to-day client services including budgeting, cash flow management, bill pay, and financial reporting
  • Review financial reports including net worth statements, cash flow schedules, meeting packages, budgets, investment summaries, tour reconciliations, and other client deliverables
  • Assist clients with major financial transactions and life events including home purchases, contract negotiations, tour logistics, and year-end planning
  • Monitor client financial activity to identify issues, opportunities, and areas requiring escalation to Managing Directors

Tax & Compliance Oversight
  • Review and coordinate the preparation of moderate to complex multi-state tax returns (individual, S corporation, C corporation, partnership, estate, and trusts) in partnership with tax staff
  • Stay current on applicable federal and state tax laws, regulations, and economic developments that may impact clients' financial positions
  • Conduct or coordinate tax research and multi-jurisdictional planning as needed; oversee foreign touring clearances
  • Collaborate with dedicated tax team members to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all tax-related deliverables
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in business management, accounting, or financial services for high net worth individuals and/or entertainers
  • Demonstrated experience as a primary client contact with strong relationship management skills
  • Working knowledge of tax concepts and compliance requirements across individual and entity return types; ability to review and interpret tax work product
  • Deep understanding of the entertainment business management industry including royalties, touring, music publishing, record label administration, and motion picture/television finance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable presenting to and engaging with high-profile clients and their representatives
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple client relationships and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop junior staff
  • Sense of urgency, follow-through, and commitment to accuracy and professionalism
  • Strong discretion and judgment when handling sensitive client information

This position is an exemptposition. The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $120,000-175,000 base salary compensation range. Actual base pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
