The Arizona Department of Revenue (AZDOR) is seeking a high-caliber Business Intelligence Analyst motivated by the opportunity to apply strong analytical thinking, data mining, and visualization techniques to achieve the department's strategic goals. We prioritize professional potential and a proactive approach to problem-solving over years of specific tool expertise. This role focuses on the core capabilities of breaking down complex business data, interpreting findings, and communicating insights through clear reports and dashboards.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:

? Create and maintain reports & dashboards for internal stakeholders, providing clear visualizations and explanations of findings.
? Use BI tools and data analytics software to analyze data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
? Conduct data analysis to generate meaningful insights from data sets
? Writing, executing and analyzing SQL queries
? Create ad-hoc and standard SSRS reports to document results of data analysis
? Utilize data analysis tools such as SQL, MS Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI to work with huge volumes of Data.
? Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business data analysis needs and goals.
? Develop, analyze, and evaluate business needs to improve workflow processes, troubleshoot Business Intelligence tool problems and tune for performance optimization and usability.
? Ensure accuracy and validity of data sets and reports.
? Organize, classify and synthesize the data into fundamental issues from the information provided
? Identify the logical outcomes from the analysis of the data collected and identify the options & solutions for addressing the problems analyzed
? Develop and maintain applications and automation scripts using Visual Basic (VB) to streamline reporting and data analysis tasks.
? Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements: ? Education
? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
? Any training, coursework, and work experience relevant to the assignment.

? Knowledge and understanding of software development processes, including requirements and technical design analysis, development, system and user testing, problem resolution, and planning
? Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
? Knowledge of using PC in a Windows environment; using MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel, VB, PowerPoint; and using Google Suite applications such as Gmail, Sheets, Docs, and Drive
