General Description
We are seeking a Business Development Coordinator to join our team! The Business Development Coordinator provides business development and marketing support to the firm's Marketing Department and assigned Section/Practice Group(s). The coordinator provides support for event management and marketing initiatives, prepares practice development and collateral materials, maintains attorney biographies, and assists with internal and external communications, publications, and surveys.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
  • Coordinates marketing and business development projects, as assigned, from inception through implementation.
  • Assists with marketing and business development strategies, projects, and events, including the tracking and follow-up of specific efforts.
  • Assists with directory, award and ranking submissions by working with attorneys and the practice Development Manager to draft and collect information.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to develop/prepare customized materials for prospect/client presentations and respond to requests and initiate projects.
  • Conducts basic industry, prospect, firm experience, and competitor research.
  • Assists with updating and keeping the firm's practice development information current including marketing collateral, legal directory submissions, contact lists, brochures, biographies and practice group descriptions.
  • Assists with the planning, coordination, and management of practice-specific events, webinars, proposals, internal and external communications, publications and surveys.
  • Develop relationships with lead partners in the practice areas.
  • Travel to other cities and firm offices.
  • Performs other marketing and business development related responsibilities and projects, as necessary.
  • Expected to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and full attention to and engagement in work activities on behalf of the firm during business hours unless otherwise approved or required by applicable law.
  • Special project and duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are critical (spelling, grammar usage, writing and proofreading skills, etc.).
  • Exceptional communication, organizational and project management skills and being a self-starter with proven ability to meet deadlines and handle a wide range of executive level support duties.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and a drive in developing new marketing initiatives with the Practice Development team and assigned Section attorneys.
  • Advanced capability in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is necessary, or Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment is essential, as is the ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Required Qualifications & Education:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in professional services.

Preferred Qualifications & Education:
  • Law firm experience preferred.
  • Experience with Foundation and Qorus Docs is a plus.
  • Experience using AI tools to assist with job-related tasks, such as research, drafting, editing, proofreading and data analytics is preferred; willingness to learn and use AI tools in accordance with firm policies is important.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.

The base salary range for this position is $27.50/hr - $41.30/hr. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience. In addition to the base compensation, Holland & Knight provides bonus opportunities and an exceptional benefits package.
