About Us

The Center for Sleep and Wake Disorders (CSWD) is a leading specialty practice dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. With locations in Chevy Chase and Bowie, MD, we partner with physicians and healthcare providers across the region to improve patient outcomes through expert care. We are growing rapidly and are looking for a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Representative to help expand our referral network.

Role Overview

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a field-based role responsible for driving new patient referrals to CSWD from physicians, specialists, and healthcare providers across the Chevy Chase, Bowie, and surrounding Maryland markets. This person will serve as the primary point of contact between referring providers and our practice, building long-term partnerships that generate consistent referral volume.

This role reports directly to the Chief Business Development Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, target, and call on physician offices, primary care providers, specialists, and health systems within the assigned territory to generate new referrals
  • Build andmaintainstrong, trust-based relationships with referring providers and their office staff
  • Manage and grow an existing referral account base while continuously prospecting for new opportunities
  • Attend relevant networking events, medical conferences, and community health functions to increase practice visibility
  • Track all activity, referral trends, and account data using CRM tools
  • Collaborate with practice leadership to develop territory strategy and prioritize high-opportunity accounts
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for CSWD, communicating clinical capabilities, access, and patient experience with confidence

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle (role requires regular travel within territory)
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a field-based environment
  • Professional presentation and strong verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in outside sales, medical sales, pharmaceutical sales, or healthcare business development
  • Familiarity with physician office environments and referral-based sales cycles
  • Experience with CRM platforms
  • Background in sleep medicine, pulmonology, neurology, or related specialty is a plus
