Job Description:

TD Asset Management (TDAM), a member of TD Bank Financial Group, is a leading North American investment manager offering progressive investment solutions to both institutional and individual investors. For over two decades, the organization has established competitive market positions in active, quantitative, and passive portfolio management. As of December 31, 2025, TDAM and its affiliates manage over $508 billion in assets on behalf of pension, insurance, endowment/foundation, and corporate clients, as well as high-net worth clients and retail mutual funds.

In attaining this client commitment, TDAM has built one of Canada's largest and most respected investment management and research teams with more than 220 Portfolio Managers, Associate Portfolio Managers, Traders and Analysts.

An integral member of the Institutional Distribution team, the Associate, Business Development acts as a central resource to source and support new business opportunities. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a keen interest in the investment management industry, strong communication and organizational skills, and a desire to make a positive impact in our growing team.

This role will have exposure to and interact with several key stakeholders including Relationship Managers, Business Developers, Client Portfolio Managers, Marketing and Sales Enablement. The Associate will also be responsible for compiling research on prospective clients, competitors and industry trends and should have strong knowledge of the institutional asset management landscape.

Accountabilities:
  • Provide sales support such as pre-meeting research on prospects to institutional Relationship Managers and Business Developers
  • Prepare and share research on market intelligence and industry trends
  • Develop, maintain and apply in-depth knowledge of product solutions, both within TD Asset Management as well as industry offerings
  • Manage the prospect lifecycle, from sourcing new opportunities through websites and databases, to the submission of RFPs and preparation for finalist pitches
  • Conduct comprehensive prospect and market research, translating product, peer, and market insights into clear, competitive narratives for Relationship Managers and Business Developers
  • Build positive and productive partnerships with Relationship Managers and Business Developers
  • Create prospect lists and engagement action plans to drive new business development
  • Monitor outcomes through creation and use of dashboards and sales reporting
  • Support conference and event initiatives by conducting attendee research and identifying priority prospects and clients
  • Manage and maintain prospect information in Salesforce
  • Support strategic priorities and sales campaigns to drive asset and revenue growth
  • Proactively take initiative to increase efficiency and improve outcomes
  • Collaborate with internal partners, including Relationship Managers, Business Developers, Client Portfolio Managers and Investment Proposals and Solutions Support, to deliver legendary outcomes for clients, prospects and consultants
  • Participate in project-related initiatives to enhance the Institutional Distribution team's success
  • Own and analyze internal sales and pipeline reporting using Salesforce and other datasets to identify trends and generate insights that support business and sales strategy

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics or a related field
  • 3-5+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably in an institutional sales support, business development or relationship management role
  • Strong knowledge of the asset management industry, with demonstrated research and analytical skills and the ability to translate market, competitor and prospect information into actionable insights
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong critical thinking, problem-solving and execution skills, and the ability to anticipate needs and identify opportunities to improve business outcomes
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving global environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Comfort working with data and reporting tools to interpret sales and pipeline information and support decision-making
Additional Considerations:

The following qualifications will be considered in addition to the core requirements:

  • Enrolment in the Chartered Financial Analyst designation program
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM and/or eVestment
  • Fluency in French
