The Commercial Account Executive is a client-facing sales role responsible for growing HUB's commercial insurance portfolio through new business development, referrals, and the ongoing management of existing client relationships. This role is both a hunter and a steward, building new partnerships while ensuring existing clients receive attentive, knowledgeable service across all their commercial insurance needs.

What You'll Do:

New Business Development

  • Prospect for and develop new commercial insurance relationships through outbound activity and referral channels

  • Promote awareness of HUB's products and services to both prospective and existing clients

  • Provide input into strategic and tactical sales planning and contribute to a positive, collaborative sales culture

  • Share successes and support the development of Commercial Multiline Account Executives where applicable

Existing Client Management

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, managing renewals from information gathering through to final terms review

  • Mine the book of business for cross-sell and upsell opportunities, including coverage extensions, higher limits, lower deductibles, and referrals into Personal Lines, Life and Group Benefits, Private Client Services, and Auto

  • Collaborate with Commercial Account Associates and Marketing to negotiate favourable renewal terms for clients

  • Advocate on behalf of clients in the event of a claim and support them through to resolution

  • Manage accounts receivable for your assigned book, ensuring payment arrangements are confirmed within 45 days

Operations and Compliance

  • Maintain current knowledge of commercial insurance products, procedures, and market restrictions

  • Use CRM, BMS, and scorecards as required

  • Attend sales meetings and support the Chief Sales Officer and VP Sales in assessing and improving sales program effectiveness

  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • Level 2 insurance license is required

  • Minimum 2 years of commercial insurance experience is preferred; candidates with less experience who demonstrate strong potential will be considered

  • University degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field is an asset

  • Strong working knowledge of commercial property, liability, and habitational insurance principles and practices

  • Proven ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with clients and business partners

  • Skilled at identifying client needs, developing proposals, and delivering solutions

  • Effective negotiator with strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Confident presenter with the ability to coordinate and deliver client-facing demonstrations

  • Proficient in MS Office and broker management software

  • Comfortable with travel and in-person client visits, with flexibility for after-hours availability when require
