Job description

Position Summary

The Business Intelligence (BI) Business Analyst will lead the successful rollout and adoption of new Power BI dashboards across the organization, replacing existing Cognos sales reporting. This role will serve as the primary liaison between business users and IT, ensuring a smooth transition to interactive reporting solutions while gathering feedback, managing change, and driving user adoption.

The ideal candidate has experience leading Power BI implementations from a business perspective, understands Sales and Finance operations, and excels at stakeholder engagement and change management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the rollout and implementation of Power BI dashboards to business users across the United States, Canada, and Tijuana.
  • Coordinate and manage user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring end users thoroughly validate dashboards prior to deployment.
  • Support business users in transitioning from static Cognos reports to interactive Power BI dashboards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and IT development teams.
  • Capture, prioritize, and document user feedback, enhancement requests, and issues, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
  • Translate business reporting requirements into functional requirements for Power BI developers.
  • Identify reporting gaps and opportunities to improve business intelligence capabilities.
  • Develop and execute communication plans, training materials, and user support resources to encourage successful adoption.
  • Monitor rollout progress and user engagement, providing regular updates to project stakeholders and leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure reporting solutions meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Change Manager, or similar business-facing role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating the rollout of Power BI within an organization.
  • Strong understanding of Sales and Finance business processes, reporting requirements, and key performance metrics.
  • Experience facilitating communication between business users and IT or development teams.
  • Ability to understand Power BI functionality and technical concepts sufficiently to collaborate effectively with developers, without requiring dashboard development experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

PreferredQualifications

  • Experience replacing or migrating legacy reporting platforms such as Cognos with Power BI.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide change management initiatives.
  • Familiarity with user acceptance testing (UAT), requirements gathering, and Agile project environments.
