Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and technically proficient Business Analyst to join our Financial Systems Operations team. In this vital role, you will support the management, maintenance, and optimization of our SAP S/4HANA environment and peripheral financial systems.  The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of SAP FICO modules, strong analytical skills, and experience providing operational support for SAP environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include providing initial SAP user support, gathering business requirements, performing root cause analysis, and testing and training support as needed.  You will work closely with the Laboratory’s IT department as well as stakeholders from within the Finance organization and other functional areas to ensure that SAP financial systems are robust, secure, and aligned with business requirements.

  • Support the management and maintenance of our financial systems to ensure their optimal performance and availability.
  • Document business requirements for initiatives.
  • Assist in regular system reviews as well as support data and authorization integrity checks.
  • Complete initial intake and troubleshooting of system issues in a timely manner.
  • Translate business requirements for the development of functional and technical specifications for handoff to the Level Three (L3) team.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including user manuals, procedures, policies, and technical guides.
  • Assist in implementing new financial systems and integrating existing systems.
Qualifications - Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience supporting financial systems.
  • Functional proficiency in SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC (specifically GL, AP, AR, AA, and Controlling).
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, system lifecycle management and access management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on system accuracy, reliability, and customer support.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize support effectively.

Additional Experience:

  • Experience in a corporate or governmental finance environment.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud).
  • Experience with system integration and automation.
  • Experience with project management
