Job description

Position Type: Substitute/Substitute Teacher Date Posted: 8/13/2025 Location: Westbrook Middle School Westbrook Middle School s looking to add Designated Building Substitutes ("Bench Subs") to its team for the 2025-2026 school year. A Designated Building Substitute reports to WMS daily to fill various open positions throughout the building. They must commit to working 90 or more school days at the same school during the year and would be guaranteed work every day.

They will be available to substitute in any open position on a daily basis. They get to know all of the students and staff in this role, which makes for a more effective and enjoyable experience when covering classrooms. They would be paid at the highest level on the substitute scale, according to their level of education and certification.

CHRC (Maine DoE fingerprinting) is required, teaching certification preferred. This position is not a contract or benefits eligible position. Ideal candidates will be collaborative, positive, flexible, and fun!
