POSITION TYPE: Part Time, Non-Exempt

LOCATION: SAP Center and Tech CU Arena - San Jose, CA

REPORTS TO: Sr. Manager of Building Services

POSTING DATED: November-December 2025

Position Overview

This Maintenance Staff position is responsible for the general maintenance and cleanup of SAP Center and Tech CU Arena before, during, and after events. This position will focus primarily on post-event cleanup of both venues. Shifts typically begin after events, with an emphasis on returning all areas to top condition. This role plays a crucial part in delivering a positive experience for all attendees by maintaining the highest standards of facility upkeep and operational support. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and seeking a night-shift position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for interior facility maintenance, including, but not limited to, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and surface cleaning throughout the facilities during and after events
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of all areas throughout the event, including restrooms, concourses, and seating areas.
  • Provide on-site maintenance support during events, promptly addressing issues such as spills.
  • Remove waste trash and recyclables and dispose in proper locations
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms as assigned
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift leads, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Participate in the teardown and clean-up of event spaces, including removal of trash, cleaning surfaces, disassembly of tables and chairs, and returning spaces to their standard layout

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
  • Ability to process information in an organized and efficient manner
  • Ability to think and react quickly in any situation

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and crouch for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 25lbs with or without accommodation
  • Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation
  • Must be able to perform physical activities for extended periods, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to perform tasks that may involve working at heights
