Job description

Braun Intertec is seeking an Experienced Building Science Technician to join our Bloomington, MN location.
Responsibilities:
  • Work type and involvement will vary but consist primarily of performing field services for the following areas:
  • Building envelope, component constructability, material analysis and field testing services to include, but not limited to:
    • Field fenestration testing. Braun Intertec is an AMAA accredited window testing agency.
    • Building enclosure observations and testing for roofing, waterproofing, and wall / air barrier / EIFS systems.
    • Building enclosure condition assessments and forensic investigations.
  • Help with maintaining equipment
  • Providing daily reports to project managers and clients
  • Mentoring from and working with licensed architects/engineers.
  • Will need to learn procedures and gain experience with ICC, NFPA, ADA, ASTM, ANSI, AAMA, ICRI, IFC and other standards

Required Skills:
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Travel out of town up to 25% - 50% of the time-
  • Ability to lift minimum 50 pounds.
  • The employee will need to have the ability to walk through a project or jobsite, stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, carry, touch and climb. This can be in a combination of tightly enclosed areas, or on ladders, lifts and scaffolding. At times the job can be physically demanding and involves interior and exterior work in all weather conditions.

Required Experience:
  • Preferred minimum 2-year Associates Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering related field.
  • Preferred minimum 2-years of building enclosure work-related experience
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in building enclosure and/or window systems installation, testing.
  • Currently holds or is willing to earn the FGIA Fenestration Associate or FGIA FenestrationMaster Professional Certification.
  • Computer proficiency. AutoCAD skills a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License and clear driving record.
