Camp Neyati Waterfront Director
The Position
Under the direction of the Camp Neyati Director, the Waterfront Director is
responsible for ensuring the general health and safety of campers and staff
utilizing the waterfront, to train/supervise all aquatic observers and oversee
all waterfront activities. This individual must maintain high personal
standards, adhere to, and carry out the mission of the Greater Midland.
Major Job Responsibilities
โ€ข Ensure the general health and safety of campers and staff utilizing
the waterfront at scheduled times.
โ€ข Train and supervise camp User-Group Aquatic Observers during
swimming, boating, fishing, and all other waterfront activities.
โ€ข Lifeguard daily & manage all waterfront emergencies.
โ€ข Maintain constant attention and awareness of all activity in and
around waterfront.
โ€ข Enforce all waterfront rules and policies consistently.
โ€ข Assist in maintaining waterfront, equipment, and grounds.
โ€ข Assist in maintaining all facilities to ensure safe and seamless
transition for all user-groups.
Qualifications
โ€ข Current Lifeguarding Certification (or equivalent), with ability to
obtain open waterfront module upon hire.
โ€ข Corresponding Certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED.
โ€ข Minimum of 1 year experience as a lifeguard.
โ€ข Experience working with children preferred.
โ€ข Excellent people skills: ability to work with a wide variety of
personalities.
โ€ข Leadership/Management experience.
โ€ข Strong verbal and written communication skills.
โ€ข Minimum Age: 20 years.
โ€ข Prior resident camp experience preferred.
โ€ข *Potential for frequent overnight shifts onsite (if not choosing to
reside onsite).
โ€ข *Ability to reside onsite for camp season (housing provided).
Physical Requirements
โ€ข Ability to perform all job duties in various weather conditions.
โ€ข Ability to reside in camp setting and carryout non-traditional
schedule.
โ€ข Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully and work
cooperatively with all camp User-Groups.
โ€ข Physical ability to respond appropriately to all situations requiring
water rescue and first aid.
โ€ข Ability to safely carry/load waterfront equipment up to 50 lbs.
