Job description

About the Role

As Manager, Industrial Engineering, you will identify, evaluate, justify and implement process optimization initiatives, including distribution capacity expansions, labor performance programs, transportation optimization initiatives and system upgrades. 

What You’ll Do

  • Manage a team of Industrial Engineers responsible for optimizing supply chain processes

  • Lead Logistics planning efforts, including capacity and network modeling and capital budgeting

  • Assist with transportation optimization initiatives

  • Oversee the design of distribution facilities, including new facilities, facility retrofits, conveyor changes and other material handling equipment changes

  • Drive the Industrial Engineer team to identify, define and implement process improvement opportunities

  • Address all aspects of change, including people, processes, systems and equipment

  • Introduce and adapt improvement methodologies as appropriate to drive change (e.g., Six Sigma).

  • Manage direct reports, systems and projects to achieve unit goals per Company policies and practices

  • Prepare and analyze unit plans and reports

  • Provide leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise to achieve results

  • Create an effective work environment by developing a shared vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communications.

  • Develop staff through coaching, performance feedback, effective performance assessments and establishing performance and development plans

  • Additional tasks may be assigned

What Skills You Have

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or other Engineering discipline

  • Analytical, planning, organizing, sound judgment, decision making and leadership skills

  • Experience with work measurement and performance management programs, conveyor design and optimization, large project management and warehouse systems

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with an emphasis in Excel and Access

  • Proficient with AutoCAD

  • Some travel is required; roughly 30%

PREFERRED

  • Multiple years of experience in retail distribution

  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others

  • Six Sigma certification
