As the Senior Manager, Industrial Engineering, you will lead the development of facility layouts and designs, labor standards, staffing and efficiency analyses, and identify cost-saving opportunities while supporting operational implementations.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Hire, train and develop industrial engineering staff; provide technical support and direction to site industrial engineers and managers
  • Develop labor standards, process flow diagrams and job descriptions for new and existing operations
  • Conduct time study analyses to estimate facility staffing requirements and establish production standards
  • Identify, evaluate and implement productivity improvements
  • Document processes to facilitate operational startups and provide on-site support as required
  • Convert contract documents and SOWs into work instructions and operating procedures
  • Analyze ongoing costs and compare them to prior cost and pricing estimates
  • Select appropriate models for receiving, put-away, picking and packing solutions
  • Identify storage and picking strategies based on product dimensions and activity levels
  • Identify facility design requirements based on activity levels, product envelopes, product flow, transportation methods, building layout and power requirements
  • Specify material handling and storage equipment solutions, including automation where justified
  • Collaborate with IT resources to develop equipment requirements based on activity levels

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 5+ years of experience working in a warehouse, distribution or 3PL environment
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Experience with Labor Management Systems (LMS)
  • Project management experience, including leading projects from concept through completion
  • Experience with Lean Methodology and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma practices and principles

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Advanced degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
  • 7 years of industrial engineering experience in a distribution environment
  • 2 years of supervisory or management experience
  • SQL experience
