Job description

Salesforce Communications Cloud CPQ Architect

We're looking for a Salesforce Communications Cloud CPQ Architect for a 12-month contract engagement running in the ANZ time zone. You'll be leading the architecture and design of CPQ solutions built on Communications Cloud, working across product catalog, quoting, and pricing to deliver outcomes on a telco-focused project.

The role is remote-friendly, but we have a preference for candidates based in ANZ. If you're located outside the region, you'll need to be comfortable with ANZ business hours and open to travel when the project requires it.

This isn't a role for someone who has observed Communications Cloud CPQ from a distance. We need someone who has designed and delivered it as an architect, and can walk us through what they built.

Solution Architecture & CPQ Design

  • Own the end-to-end CPQ architecture across the Communications Cloud platform
  • Design product configuration, pricing, eligibility, and quoting flows against a complex telco product catalog
  • Define the solution blueprint for CPQ including cart architecture, guided selling, and approval frameworks
  • Lead design workshops with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into architecture decisions
  • Ensure CPQ design aligns with upstream catalog and downstream order management flows

Technical Leadership

  • Provide architectural governance across OmniStudio development (OmniScripts, FlexCards, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures)
  • Guide developers on CPQ configuration and customisation patterns
  • Define integration architecture between CPQ and external BSS/OSS systems
  • Review technical decisions and enforce design standards across the delivery team

Stakeholder Management

  • Present architecture options and trade-offs to technical and business stakeholders
  • Collaborate with project managers, BAs, and delivery leads to keep architecture aligned with scope and timeline
  • Produce clear architecture documentation that the team can actually use

What We're Looking For

Must-Have

  • Specific and demonstrable Salesforce Communications Cloud CPQ architecture experience, with real projects you can detail
  • Deep understanding of EPC: product modelling, pricing, bundles, eligibility rules, and catalog governance
  • Proven CPQ architecture: cart configuration, quoting flows, approval logic, and guided selling design
  • Strong OmniStudio skills at an architecture and oversight level
  • Ability to lead design sessions and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Based in ANZ, or able to commit to ANZ hours and travel when needed

Technical Depth

  • Telco BSS/OSS product and quoting concepts at an architecture level
  • Integration design between Communications Cloud CPQ and external systems (REST/SOAP, Integration Procedures, middleware)
  • Security model, data architecture, and large data volume considerations in a catalog context
  • DevOps and deployment practices for Communications Cloud environments

Preferred Certifications

  • Salesforce Certified OmniStudio Developer or Consultant
  • Salesforce Certified Communications Cloud Accredited Professional
  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect or Technical Architect
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I / II

Nice To Have

  • Prior delivery on telco or communications industry projects in an architect capacity
  • Experience designing order management or fulfilment flows connected to CPQ
  • Background working in a consulting or SI environment
  • Agile or SAFe delivery experience at scale

What Sets You Apart

  • Specific project examples that show what you architected, the problems you solved, and the decisions you made
  • Relevant certifications that back up your hands-on experience
  • Availability to start within 2 to 4 weeks
