     Location: Des Plaines, IL |  Department: Transportation Brokerage

We’re looking for a sharp, persuasive, and proactive Brokerage Operations Representative to help us build strong relationships with truckload carriers and ensure every shipment runs like clockwork.

    Position Overview:
     
    As a Brokerage Operations Representative, you will be responsible for building and growing relationships with truckload carriers within CJ Logistics Brokerage. You will be responsible for covering loads with vetted carriers, ensuring profitability and service.
    What You’ll Do (Your Day-to-Day):
    You're the connector between our business and the open road. You’ll match freight with the right carrier at the right price, all while maintaining service and profitability.
    •  Build and grow relationships with vetted truckload carriers
    •  Negotiate rates and contracts that keep everyone rolling
    •  Use CJ’s advanced tech tools to optimize coverage and streamline operations
    •  Keep lines of communication open with carriers to meet delivery expectations
    •  Identify process improvements and recommend smarter, faster ways to operate
    •  Execute spot market freight with an entrepreneurial mindset
    What You Bring to the Table:
    •  High school diploma or GED required (college is a bonus!)
    •  2+ years in carrier sales or brokerage operations
    •  Proven experience in rate negotiation and load execution
    •  Comfortable navigating Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
    •  Extra points if you know: MercuryGate, DAT, FourKites, Convoy for Brokers, Google Office & Trucker Tools
    •  You’re persuasive, quick-thinking, and love working in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
    •  Entrepreneurial spirit with a focus on results and relationships
