JOB SUMMARY
LIVIC Civil is looking to fill a full-time Bridge Design Engineer position for our growing bridge department. This role performs engineering design and analysis for bridge and structural transportation projects, supporting inspection, rehabilitation, and replacement work. Applies engineering judgment, coordinates with designers to develop PS&E deliverables, and supports QA/QC to ensure compliance with agency standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform bridge design tasks and technical evaluations under applicable standards.
  • Coordinate plan development with designers; provide engineering direction on details and constructability.
  • Support preparation of design documentation, exhibits, and technical narratives.
  • Participate in QA/QC reviews and design comment resolution.
  • Coordinate with PMs and other disciplines to meet project milestones.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required:
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or closely related field
    • 4+ years of progressive bridge/structural engineering experience
    • EIT
    • Familiarity with common bridge standards (AASHTO / DOT requirements)
    • Working knowledge of MicroStation/OpenBridge or comparable bridge delivery tools
    • Strong communication and documentation skills
    • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Preferred:
    • PE license (Pennsylvania or ability to obtain within 6 months)
    • PennDOT bridge design/rehab experience.
    • Experience with structural analysis/design tools
    • Experience with PennDOT accepted LRFD and structural analysis engineering progress
    • Travel to other offices as needed
