Job description

Job Details โ€“ Level: Experienced. Job Location: Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Position Type: Full Time. Education Level: Minimum 4 Year Degree. Job Category: Structural Bridge Design.

Poughkeepsie, NY office of Modjeski & Masters is seeking Civil Bridge Design Engineers with at least 4 years of related bridge design experience.

What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • At minimum a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University
  • Ideal Candidates will be within 6 months of obtaining a valid PE license
  • Minimum of 4 years related Bridge Design experience
What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Review and check standard structural design calculations.
  • Perform structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using analysis software.
  • Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans.
  • Provide information for design reports.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field inspections and construction service assignments.
  • Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
  • Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
  • Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
  • Review and check drawings.
  • Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.
  • Able to learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc.
