Job description

A. General Responsibilities
Performs agency manager duties for the assigned territory. Work with route sales employees for the sale, return, and account service of Schwebel customers.
B. Nature and Scope of Position
Primarily interfaces with sales department and corporate customers. Follows company policies and procedures to ensure maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within assigned territory.
C. Duties
  • Manage company bread routes including distribution, sales, returns, account service, and new accounts.
  • Communicates with sales team to establish route sales goals, standards, and customer requirements.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of all company products to effectively engage and assist route salesmen.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of a route distribution center.
  • Establishes and maintains a clean, safe work environment in compliance with Company/Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Performs other functions as assigned by Director of Route Operations.

D. Qualifications
Must have 2 to 3 years of route sales operations experience or sales and account experience (bread industry route sales management experience a plus). Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with good driving record. Must be aggressive, self-starting, and result oriented. Must possess excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the company and corporate accounts. Must have strong presentation, persuasion, and listening skills. Excellent oral, written, and presentational skills. Must be familiar with interviewing and recruiting new personnel. Competent in Microsoft Windows. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
E. Requirements
Possess or ability to pass and secure a DOT medical card. Have and maintain a clean and safe driving record.
F. Additional Information
Must be able to satisfy work schedule necessary to complete job requirements. Must be able to effectively communicate with customer accounts and Schwebel's Sales Department members in both written and verbal forms. Must possess strong organizational and multitasking skills. Must be detail oriented. Mileage reimbursement.
