The Route Sales Driver will be at the forefront of customer service, sales, delivery, and account collection. This role involves physically demanding work, effective customer communication, and proactive sales strategies to promote route growth and ensure account retention. We are seeking a self-organized individual with a professional demeanor, solid organizational and management skills, and an impeccable driving record.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver, display, and sell bakery products to customers in an assigned area. Serve all customers on the assigned route, making up to 40 stops per day.
  • Track customer sales by maintaining order files, collections information, and route history. Handle customer relations by understanding customer store policies affecting bakery products and establishing professional relationships.
  • Identify and report route problems to the sales manager.
  • Meet and exceed sales goals according to company standards.
  • Check the assigned truck after loading, keep it clean, and notify maintenance of necessary repairs.
  • Verify product during load to ensure accurate customer orders and secure the load to prevent damage.
  • Manage the schedule for timely deliveries.
  • Practice and comply with all company policies and procedures, including work rules.

Qualifications:

  • One year or more of experience in a sales environment. High School diploma or equivalent
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License. Clear and distinct communication skills.
  • Read and comprehending policies and procedures.
  • Capability to deliver stacks of bread to customer facilities, including navigating stairs or other challenging locations.
  • Ability to maneuver and move stacks of bread, weighing up to 100-300 lbs. from warehouse to truck to the customer using a bread hook.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, including proper uniform attire, personal hygiene, and grooming.
