Job description

About the Role:

IPSY is looking for a strategic and hardworking Brand Partnerships Manager, who will play a vital role as part of our Brand Partnerships Team. Our team works with beauty brands to source amazing products for our IPSY member subscriptions. As a Brand Partnerships Manager, you will be sourcing the best brands and products for our business. You will be responsible for sourcing new and exciting brands, and building strong lasting relationships with existing brands. Our dream candidate is an ultra-organized, proactive beauty junkie with impeccable attention to detail and lots of positive energy. This position will report to the Director of Brand Partnerships and will work out of our New York City or Santa Monica Office.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Lead Generation: Proactively generate leads, pitch IPSY's value proposition, and participate in business planning.
  • Relationship Management: Build and manage relationships with key brands by helping them achieve their objectives and develop a long-term business development strategy for consistent campaigns.
  • Product Sourcing: Identify new brands and trending products, including acquiring exclusive products and presenting internally for future campaign inclusion.
  • Strategic Upselling: Work with the strategy team to identify targets for, pitch, and close on IPSY's premium marketing and media services.
  • Deal Negotiation: Negotiate best-in-market cost, contract terms, and product offering to support overall growth strategy.
  • Brand Education: Continuously educate brands on IPSY's new product offerings.
  • Internal Advocacy: Act as the brand ambassador internally to help define the vision, goals, and positioning of the brand in their IPSY campaign.
  • Process Curation: Identify common callouts from brands during the curation process to assist in the development of future initiatives.
  • Event Representation: Participate in industry and company events along with marketing production, as needed.
  • Team Leadership: potential to manage one or more direct-reports and/or contractors
  • Project Management: Run point on one or more key strategic initiatives related to Brand Partnerships strategy

What We're Looking For:

  • Industry Experience: Minimum 5+ years of account management, buyer, or merchandising experience specifically within the beauty industry.
  • Financial Acumen: Analytical and business-minded approach with a proven track record of meeting strict monthly goals and financial targets.
  • Negotiation & Pitching: Expert ability to negotiate with vendors for best possible product costs alongside confidence pitching to external and internal clients.
  • Execution & Structure: Highly organized, autonomous, and results-driven work style equipped to handle competing priorities and high-value accounts.
  • Communication Skills: Impeccable verbal and written communication skills optimized for external contacts, cross-functional team members, and executive leadership.
  • Academic Background: Bachelor's degree combined with an authentic, deep-rooted passion for the beauty space.

  • Merchandising Depth: Hands-on beauty industry merchandising or buying experience.
