Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:  

Working under limited supervision, leads and provides application support for the SAP S/4HANA Finance, Controlling, and Group Reporting/Business & Management Consolidation processes globally for the Company.  Oversees small to large scale projects which may span multiple functional areas within and external to the Information Technology function.  Provides support for operational packages and/or applications that are in-house or purchased, developed, designed, or implemented.  Completes evaluations of special or assigned new software studies.  Consults with users to determine needs and define user software and/or hardware requirements.  Determines feasibility of software to fulfill user requirements and ensures that software is cost effective, business related and operationally compatible. 

Works under the general direction of the CIO.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (End Results Expected): 

  1. Acts as a liaison between departmental end-users and programming staff in the analysis, design, functional configuration, testing and maintenance of the SAP and non-SAP suite of products to support product development and implementation to ensure optimal system performance.
  1. Interfaces with business users (such as the CFO, Corporate and Worldwide Controllers, Accounting staff, etc.) to interpret and clarify complex functional configuration details and process change requirements involving all SAP and non-SAP Modules required to support manufacturing operations, with emphasis on SAP modules: Financial Accounting, Controlling, and Group Reporting/Business Consolidations.
  1. Oversees the performance of the Finance IT team members and consultants to ensure that the team is consistently delivering at the highest level of quality, on time and on budget.
  1. Performs complex unit and integration testing for assigned modules, within multiple functional areas, from development to production.
  1. Troubleshoots configuration, performs upgrades and functional changes to ensure optimum system performance.
  1. Develops and proposes new ideas and advancements of new software concepts in support of Bourns corporate goals and objectives.
  1. Interfaces with functional unit process owners and users to identify, define, and document operational needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements and levels of system access.  
  1. Conducts, directs, and coordinates efforts relating to special or assigned new software studies and/or evaluations that fulfills requirements, are cost effective, business related, and operationally compatible, when necessary.
  1. Investigates, analyzes, and evaluates in-house or purchased, developed, designed, implemented and/or operational packages and/or applications for overall department, inter-department, organizational and company effectiveness in satisfying short-range and long-term goals.
  1. Tracks and documents changes to complex functional and business specifications and writes detailed procedures that can be easily understood by end-users.
  1. Trains users and supports training in the usage of the SAP modules, systems, and functionality, specifically in the areas of SAP Finance, Costing (Controlling) and Group Reporting/Consolidations.
  1. Maintains problems and project information in the Service Desk / Help Desk database.
  1. Maintains effective and cooperative working relationships with process owners, functional and technical team members and users     
  1. Ensures all plans are clearly communicated with regular status reports and issue identification to business and IT management.
  1. Is responsible for communication of operational documentation and processes to the IT Operations and Help Desk Organizations.
  1. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:


EDUCATION: 
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Communications or the combined equivalent education, work experience and skills in supporting and implementing financial accounting solutions in a Manufacturing environment with strong knowledge of Enterprise Resource Systems and SAP S/4HANA.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: 
Fifteen (15) plus years' experience in SAP Business Suite modules, specifically using SAP S/4 Universal Journal, General Ledger, Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables, Fixed Assets and Group Reporting/Financial Consolidations. Working in an I.T. environment with some programming experience.

OTHER SKILLS: 
Knowledgeable with S/4HANA PP and SAC.

COMMUNICATIONS:
ORAL :  Excellent skills in simplifying and presenting complex concepts, plans and programs to various levels of employees within the Company.  Must be able to convey technical information and ideas and presentations to peers, software users and upper management.

WRITTEN:  Ability to develop, organize and compose complex reports, proposals, training information and procedures.  Able to submit concise written proposals and system documentation.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: 

  1. Must be able to develop and manage effective working relationships with Bourns personnel and can prioritize and complete tasks accurately. 
  2. Provide project leadership to other analysts and assigned personnel and measure and monitor accomplishments.
  3. Must have the ability to communicate and operate in a team environment as well as provide project leadership to other analysts and assigned personnel.

SCHEDULING AND PLANNING:  
Must be able to develop meaningful short-term and strategic plans and proposals, complex project plans involving all organization levels within the Company. Must be available to work weekends, non-traditional hours and on an "on call" basis.

SALARY RANGE: 

$160,000 - $190,000, plus eligibility for up to a 10% annual bonus.
