Bookmans Entertainment Exchange has been serving Arizona communities for nearly 50 years. Originally a used bookstore, Bookmans has expanded to include various forms of media such as books, video games, music and movies as well as musical instruments, housewares, and collectibles. We buy, sell, and trade with our customers to acquire the majority of our inventory, proudly following a sustainable business model that keeps items out of landfills and gives them new life. Additionally, Bookmans speaks out against censorship and promotes freedom of expression at every turn.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading and promoting a customer-friendly store atmosphere by providing exceptional customer assistance. To apply knowledge of housewares, toys, and jewelry products to buying, processing, and selling; continuously incorporating positive customer focused strategies. Staff prices, sorts, stocks, and merchandise all areas of the department, as well as works at the Incoming Merchandise/Trade counter buying and pricing merchandise.
Job Requirements:
• Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills. Customer Service requires patience, kindness, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with diverse communities and customer needs.
• Professional telephone skills
• Ability to adapt to a flexible working schedule to include early mornings, evenings, mid-shifts, and weekends.
• Diverse housewares/toys/jewelry product knowledge.
• Understanding of the pricing, trading, and discount systems at Bookmans.
• Motivated to learn how to buy/process/sell Gallery Merchandise.
• General knowledge of products sold at Bookmans.
• Knowledge of store sections and layout.
• Ability to work independently with guidance and direction from the Gallery Department Supervisor/Lead and Store Management.
• Ability to use reference materials.
• Must be able to conduct oneself in a civil, professional, and respectful manner at work.
This position is part-time (less than 30 hours per week).
