Job description

A leading nonprofit organization with a national presence of over 50 offices is seeking to expand its accounting team at the corporate office in Hoffman Estates. As one of the largest organizations in its sector, we are experiencing rapid growth and are looking for skilled professionals to support our bookkeeping and accounting functions.


Responsibilities Include:


  • Provided a variety of bookkeeping and accounting services to multiple locations.
  • Accounting assistance, reconciliation, and analysis; response/resolution
  • Maintain records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions
  • Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
  • Manage month and quarter-end processes including bank reconciliations and preparing financial reports for management including cash flow reports
  • Communicate and resolve issues in a timely manner regarding payments, payment amount discrepancies, accrual management, as well as any additional bookkeeping issues that may arise
  • Audit accounting records to verify accuracy
  • Communicate with employees and management to assist with scheduling and employee support if needed.


Experience Requirements:


  • Intacct is our accounting program โ€“ experience with Intacct is a BIG plus, but experience with QuickBooks, Peachtree or similar accounting packages is relevant
  • Proficiency in Excel financial modeling is required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Minimum 5 years experience in accounting/bookkeeping including accounts payable and accounts receivable for small businesses
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • A professional, positive attitude and ability to take initiative when the situation presents itself
  • Excellent prioritization skills and ability to self-manage and execute tasks with limited assistance/unassisted
  • BS in Accounting or Business or 5 years relevant experience
