Office Manager / Bookkeeper

Staff One Recruiting is conducting a direct-hire search for an established organization in Chicago's North Shore / northern suburbs seeking an experienced Office Manager / Bookkeeper.

This full-time, on-site position combines bookkeeping, payroll, employee administration, and general office operations. The ideal candidate is organized, self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable taking ownership across multiple business functions.

Compensation: $65,000–$70,000 annually
New-Hire Bonus: $500 after 30 days

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Employment: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Work Arrangement: On-Site

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage AP/AR, bookkeeping, bank transactions, invoices, and financial records
  • Support payroll processing, timecards, reporting, W-2/1099, and 401(k) administration
  • Coordinate employee onboarding/off boarding, PTO, benefits, personnel records, and workers' compensation
  • Work with payroll, benefits, HR, IT, insurance, and other vendors
  • Maintain office supplies, equipment, procedures, and administrative systems
  • Support day-to-day office operations and administrative needs
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of bookkeeping experience
  • 2+ years of office administration experience
  • Strong AP/AR and payroll experience
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP
  • Strong organization, communication, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working in a broad, hands-on position

Experience with HR administration, benefits, 401(k), workers' compensation, vendor management, or insurance administration is a plus.
