Payroll Clerk / Accounts Payable / Bookkeeper

We are currently accepting applications for an experienced Payroll Clerk / Accounts Payable / Bookkeeper within our long-term care and rehabilitation facility specializing in geriatrics.

We are looking for a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented individual with previous skilled nursing facility billing and insurance experience. This position plays an important role in supporting the financial and administrative operations of our facility.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous experience with skilled nursing facility billing and insurance is required
  • Experience with Medicaid applications and processing insurance approvals
  • Previous payroll, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or healthcare administrative experience required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle employee, resident, and financial information with confidentiality
  • Proficiency with computer systems; experience with payroll and accounting software is a plus
  • Dependable, flexible, accountable, and able to maintain a positive attitude
  • Must enjoy working with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen

Essential Job Functions

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
  • Process accounts payable and maintain accurate financial records
  • Perform bookkeeping and general accounting support for the facility
  • Assist with skilled nursing facility billing and insurance processes
  • Complete and follow up on Medicaid applications
  • Process and track insurance approvals and related documentation
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial and administrative records
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and assist with resolving discrepancies
  • Provide administrative and financial support to facility leadership
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, resident, and financial information
  • Assist with additional accounting and administrative duties as needed
